Dr. Aideen Moran

Dr. Aideen Moran is a General Adult Psychiatrist at the Department of Adult Psychiatry, Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. Dr. Moran is also Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). In addition, Dr. Moran is an Associate Specialist of the Deans Clinics St Patricks University Hospital, James Street Dublin 8.

A medical graduate of Trinity College in 1992, Dr Moran completed her senior registrar training in general adult psychiatry on the Irish National Higher Training scheme in Psychiatry. Dr. Moran also completed a special interest year in forensic psychiatry. She holds a Masters in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from Trinity College and continues to act as an examiner and supervisor on the PG Diploma in CBT offered by TCD. She also holds a Masters in Health Services Management from TCD.

Dr. Moran is actively involved in a number of professional bodies. She has been active in the Medical Psychotherapy faculty and External Affairs and Policy Faculty of the College of Psychiatry Ireland. Dr. Moran is a member of the executive committee of the General Adult Psychiatry faculty of the College of Psychiatry Ireland.

Dr. Moran has extensive experience of medico-legal consultancy. She acts as a Tribunal Consultant Psychiatrist and also provides Independent Consultant reports to the Mental Health Commission.

Dr. Moran specialises in the biopsychosocial assessment and management of adult mental health problems including mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment and stress related conditions, obsessive compulsive disorder, alcohol related problems, and psychosis. As a qualified psychotherapist she can advise on both medical and cognitive therapy interventions.

As an associate Dean specialist she works in collaboration with St Patricks University Hospital offering treatment and empowering recovery through referral to day and inpatient services in SPUH and the Dean’s network.

Clinic Information

Clinics will be held on Wednesday afternoons between 2.30pm and 7.30pm at Suite 5, Vista Primary Care, Ballymore Road, Naas, Co. Kildare.

This service is solely accessible via GP referral and self-referrals will not be seen.

This is an adult service only for individuals aged 18-65.
